Just as I rummaged through the spices on the video to this post, people are using Google search every day. And if one seeks the salt and does not find any, that returns to the search. Logically, right?
⠀
That’s exactly the point! Smart algorithms of search engines check exactly how much time visitors spend on a page, and use this information as one of the most important criteria for ranking of search results.
⠀
That’s why artificial optimization works rather hard nowadays. The website has to be good and useful first of all for its visitors.
⠀
A few tips on how to keep the user on the page longer:
⠀
Of course, the best of all times was and remains to research the keywords, study your customers and write really useful content!
⠀
? Use videos! Best from Youtube (because of loading speed, quality adjustment, royalty-free, etc.). You can take almost any video on the topic from Youtube and embed in your homepage. The recommended duration is 3-5 minutes.
⠀
? Use images, graphics, comparison tables, numbered lists.
⠀
? Linking the useful content of other resources, by placing the links on other good websites.
⠀
Ok, ok, you probably do not like the last point very much. Okay, not at all. But it is better if your visitor jumps to another website and not back to the search!
⠀
The last one would mean for the search engines, that the visitor has not found, what he or she was looking for on your homepage and as a result will place your website lower on search results.
⠀
And the last one. Entertain your visitors?
